SmartFile will launch FileHub, a new network storage feature for their on-premise file sharing and FTP appliance designed for enterprise and mid-size businesses seeking enhanced compliance and security, at Interop 2014 in Las Vegas. Utilizing SmartFile’s proven technology and modern web interface, businesses can now manage files and users on-site.
John Hurley, SmartFile CEO said, “FileHub™ enhances our on-premise file sharing appliance by reducing file redundancy along with adding audit trails and email notifications to your network files. The appliance delivers the same features, scalability and reliability that our web-based product has for years with the added security and compliance features required by enterprise customers.”
SmartFile’s on-premise appliance is a plug and play solution allowing IT managers to integrate FTP and file management into their network with minimal effort. Features include a fully documented RESTful API, Active Directory (or LDAP) integration, file and user activity audits, and a customizable web interface that can incorporate customers’ branding and assigned helpdesk emails. Also included with each appliance are SmartFile’s new desktop sync client and Microsoft Outlook Add-In to make managing data even easier.
SmartFile’s on-premise solution also features an innovative pricing model. Each appliance bundles the cost of hardware, software and 24/7 support into an annual subscription, eliminating the need for customers to purchase the hardware or pay for ongoing software updates. Next-day onsite support is also included with FileHub™. Brian Kuntz, SmartFile Enterprise Business Development Manager said, “SmartFile’s appliance subscription enables the security and compliance that companies need without the added cost of hardware ownership. Our scalable system allows businesses to support growing file sharing and storage demands with less effort, time, and money.”
