Xiaomi – the Chinese smartphone manufacturing company has just expanded its Redmi Y series of smartphones with two new handsets, dubbed as the Xiaomi Redmi Y1 and the Xiaomi Redmi Y1 Lite. The main highlight of the smartphone is 16-megapixel selfie camera with LED flash support, so you can capture bright and clear selfies even in low light conditions.

The smartphone features a 5.5 inches IPS LCD capacitive touchscreen display that carries the support for 720 x 1280 pixels screen resolution at 236 of ppi pixel density. There is also a Corning Gorilla Glass 3 layer that protects it from being damaged. The phone runs on the seventh generation Android 7.0 Nougat operating system out of the box with MIUI 9.0.
And it is powered by the Qualcomm MSM8940 Snapdragon 435 octa core processor, which is having a clock frequency of 1.4 GHz. For graphics, there is an Adreno 505 graphics processor. On the storage front, the smartphone is equipped with 3GB / 4GB of RAM along with 32GB / 64GB of internal storage that can be further expanded with the help of MicroSD card up to 256GB.
As far as the camera is concerned, the smartphone sports a 13 megapixel rear camera with f/2.2 aperture, phase detection autofocus and LED flash support. While on the front of the device, there is a 16 megapixel front facing shooter with f/2.0 aperture for capturing selfies and making video calls.
To power the device, there is a Non-removable Li-Ion 3080 mAh battery buried inside. The phone is available in various color options, including Gold, Dark Grey, Silver, and Rose Gold.
