Recently, Samsung announced its latest flagship phones that come with high-end specs and features, dubbed as the Samsung Galaxy S8 and S8 Plus as well. And now the company has just announced a rugged version of the Galaxy S8, touted as the Samsung Galaxy S8 Active smartphone. The phone is available for pre-order on AT&T for $850 and you can grab it on the installment plan for $28.34 for 30 months.
The company says it’s the “toughest Galaxy smartphone yet,” featuring a rugged design and military-grade screen that makes it shock, shatter, water, and dust resistant. That means, it is the best option for those who want to buy a solid phone and does not damage in rough conditions. The smartphone features a full metal frame body with a bumper as well, which helps it to shield from shocks. Moreover, the back of the device is also tough and solid, which protect it from back as well and will provide a secure grip.
Another notable feature is that the Active version of Galaxy S8 also comes with the support for the company’s own Bixby virtual assistant. And the phone is also able to access the stopwatch, barometer, compass, and flashlight quickly and easily. As I mentioned above, the smartphone comes with water resistant, IP68 certified, means the phone is capable to survive in 5 feet of submerged water for up to 30 minutes.
In terms of specs, the smartphone features a 5.8-inch Quad HD Super AMOLED display, which carries an 18.5:9 aspect ratio. Unfortunately, the Galaxy S8 Active hasn’t an infinity edge support. The phone runs on the Android Nougat operating system and powered by the Qualcomm Snapdragon 835 processor. The smartphone is equipped with 4GB of RAM along with 64GB of internal storage that can be further expanded with the help of MicroSD card up to 256GB.
As far as the photography is concerned, the phone comes with a 12-megapixel rear camera with f/1.7 aperture and features a dual-pixel autofocus, which will let you allow to captures beautiful and clear pictures even in low light conditions. And for taking selfies, there is an 8-megapixel front facing camera. Under the hood, the smartphone has a huge and powerful 4,000mAh battery buried inside.
