Sony revealed its new flagship APS-C sensor camera, a6500, along with the new RX100 Mark V, the new flagship model for the Cyber-shot RX100 series. It comes with 1.0-type CMOS sensor and fast Hybrid AF with speed of .05-second and 315 phase-detection AF points. The Sony a6500 is priced at US$ 1,400 and will be available in November in US. The new Sony RX100 V compact camera costs US$ 1,000 and will be available later this month.
Sony a6500 Features:
The Sony a6500 features a 24.2 MP APS-C type (23.5 x 15.6 mm) 3:2 Exmor CMOS sensor along with BIONZ X image processing engine. It uses 425 phase-detection AF points along with High-density Tracking AF Technology and Fast Hybrid AF (phase-detection AF/contrast-detection AF) for stills and movies (0.05 second). The new camera offers 11fps (Hi+) continuous shooting and 8fps (Hi) live-view continuous shooting. It comes our with In-body 5-axis image stabilization. The mirrorless camera can shoot in 4K resolution, as well as Full HD videos at up to 120fps.
Sony RX100 Mark V Features:
The Sony RX100 V sports a 20.1MP 1.0-type (0.52-inches x 0.35-inches) 3:2 Exmor RS CMOS sensor with DRAM chip. This camera uses a dense, widespread 315-AF-point coverage and fast Hybrid AF (phase-detection AF/contrast-detection AF) (0.05 second). It offers up to 960fps super slow motion shooting and super high-speed Anti-Distortion Shutter up to 1/32000 sec. This new compact camera features a ZEISS Vario-Sonnar T lens along with F1.8 aperture and 2.9x Optical Zoom (during movie recording). It enables smooth-tracking continuous shooting at up to 24fps.
The exterior of both cameras aren’t that different from their predecessors since the button placements are unchanged. They’re also lightweight and are made out of metal.
Pricing And Availability:
The Sony RX100 V is expected to be available in the market next month. On the other hand, the Sony A6500 is expected to be available by November.
