Why Your Next Car Should Be A Volvo

Volvo is one of the world’s best-known car manufacturers and have been in business since 1927. They have a reputation for building solid, reliable cars and the firm prides itself on the safety of the vehicles it produces.

Volvo is one of the world’s best-known car

I’ll have to admit, though, that Volvo isn’t always top of the list of car manufacturers when people are thinking of buying a new car.

Because of their conservative styling and lack of “out of the box” thinking, they are often stereotyped as being a car manufacturer whose target audience is the more discerning and older motorist!

But today I am here to tell you that those days are long gone and Volvo have improved its driver appeal. “How,” you might ask? Here are a few reasons why!

OK, so this obviously a well-known fact already, but Volvo cars are known for their impressive safety statistics.

You only have to check out the crash test ratings on the Euro NCAP website for various Volvo models to confirm that fact!

Emissions reduction

Not many people are aware of this fact, but Volvo have traditionally come up with some pretty impressive emissions reduction technology in the past.

For example, in 1976 Volvo created technology that all cars, regardless of make, use today for the purposes of reducing exhaust emissions – three-way catalytic converters, and lambda oxygen sensors.

Today, Volvo is still very much focused on manufacturing “green” cars to help minimise the negative impact engine emissions have on the environment. Volvo’s current green technology includes building hybrid and fully-electric vehicles, as well as encompassing start-stop functionality.

Driver connectivity

Unless you have been living under a rock for the past 10 years, you will have noticed that most people walk around using some form of smartphone.

Unlike standard mobile phones, smartphones enable users to stay connected to the outside world in a number of different ways, such as with email, instant messaging and more.

Apple, the manufacturer of the iPhone smartphone, announced how they are working with a number of different car manufacturers to introduce a system called CarPlay.

That system is designed to better integrate iPhones with cars, and Volvo is one of the car manufacturers that have announced plans to incorporate the technology within future models.

Autonomous technology

As it stands, various car manufacturers and those with a vested interest in autonomous vehicle technology are developing cars that drive themselves!

According to Mike from the Carco Group, Volvo is one such car manufacturer that is developing driverless car technology. Only last month, Volvo were testing out driverless Volvo S60 vehicles on the streets of Gothenburg in Sweden.

Perhaps one of the most-famous players in the driverless car market is Google, but with Volvo also in the club – a company known for holding vehicle safety in high regard – we could start to see driverless, and safe, cars more often on our streets soon!

There are a tonne of other reasons why you should buy a Volvo, but I would probably be here all day if I listed them all! Thanks for reading.
