Nissan Pixo
Released as the sister car of the Suzuki Alto, the Nissan Pixo is often overlooked by car buyers in this country. However, there are many used versions around, and so you won’t have to look too far if you decide to purchase one this year. Revealed in 2008 at the Paris Motor Show, it became an instant hit with those who place a strong emphasis on looking after the environment. Surprisingly, the Pixo could have been obtained brand new for less than £7000 until 2013. It has now been pulled from UK showrooms, but there are lots of them on the second-hand market.
Vauxhall Corsa
Still going strong, the Vauxhall Corsa is the most popular model in the country with a 1-litre engine. Many new drivers purchase the Corsa model because it helps to lower their insurance costs. However, the 1-litre engine makes it perfect for people who want to reduce emissions and go green. With an incredibly low fuel consumption, it doesn’t look like the Corsa will go out of production anytime soon.
