BMW is just celebrating the M3’s 30th anniversary with a limited edition model dubbed ‘30 Jahre M3’ which means ‘30 Years M3’. BMW says that 500 units will be built, with 150 units heading to the U.S. Available only in Macao Blue metallic, pricing starts at $84,245, that includes $995 for shipping. The new vehicle has been nicely modified from the original trim, and using M3 Competition Package as the most influencing base.

The BMW M3 30 Jahre limited edition car will be empowered by the twin-turbocharged inline six 3.0 liter engine. It can generate 444 hp of power output with 3.8 sec of acceleration rate (96 km/h) with the dual-clutch transmission. Torque output is about 406 lb-ft (550 Nm). This engine is borrowed from M3 Competition Package, which is stronger than one in the original trim.

The 30 Jahre also gets new dampers, springs, and stabilizers, as well as retuned software for the three driving modes (Comfort, Sport, Sport+), stability control, and Active M Differential.

Visually, the 30 Jahre M3 is distinguished by a special Macao Blue paint color that inspired by a color offered on the legendary E30 M3 Sport Evo model, plus a two-tone leather interior, special badging, and model-specific 20-inch alloy wheels. U.S.-spec models get the Driver Assistance Plus Package as the standard equipment. It bundles safety features like blind spot detection, side and top-view cameras, and speed limit information.

The exterior remains similar to the original trim with “30 Jahre M3″ logos embossed on the sides of boy panels. And, new carbon fiber rear spoiler, mirror caps, and rear diffuser.
