HP has launched a new gaming products designed specifically for those who demand the ultimate, immersive gaming experience. The Omen X Desktop, and it is supposed to be powerful enough to handle 4K and VR gaming. It also takes advantage of its shape in some interesting ways, by using the cube-design to separate components into different chambers to assist cooling and to provide easy-to-swap hard drive compartments.
The OMEN X Desktop features the latest graphics technology up to dual AMD Radeon R9 Fury X and up to dual NVIDIA GeForce GTX 1080 along with 6th-generation Intel Core i5/i7 processor. It’s VR-ready and supports immersive 4K experiences for even the most demanding AAA games. It has a tri-chamber design to separate components and optimize thermals along with dedicated cooling in each chamber.
The OMEN X Desktop is planned to be available at select US retailers on 16th October with a configuration starting at $2,099.99.
In a slight change of pace, HP will also be selling the new Omen X Desktop’s chassis on its own for those who want to build a gaming PC from the scratch. The case will sell for $599.99 and, on top of its wild design, has a few other solid reasons that gamers may want to pick it out, including separate chambers for its GPU, power unit, and hard drives, and its four swappable hard drive trays.
Alongside the Omen X Desktop, HP is also announcing a series of Omen gaming accessories made in partnership with SteelSeries. Those include a keyboard, mouse, mousepad, and headset. HP is also announced plans for a gaming monitor with a curved display, though it did not provide details beyond that.
